Founded in 1979 by Nikolaos Lakasas and Panagiotis Arvanitidis, Olympia Electronics S.A. develops innovative electronic security systems using state-of-the-art technology. It is the largest purely Greek producer of electronic security systems in Greece and one of the ten largest in Europe. Operating from its production facility in Methoni Pieria, the company also maintains a sales branch in Athens and in total employs 185 people.

The company has in recent years applied sophisticated world-class manufacturing production and control procedures such as lean systems, TPM, 5S and so on, resulting in products that meet European standards of manufacturing quality and are certified by various laboratories including LPCB, LLOYD’S, BSI and EVPU.
Olympia Electronics implements an integrated IQMS management system, ‘oly q’, which integrates quality management systems, environmental management, health and safety personnel, and other management systems. The company has been certified in accordance with ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 140001, and for the second time in 2011 (first in 2005), has acquired the European Business Distinction within EFQM ‘Levels of Excellence’. It is also holder of the EBEN European Bee Bronze Award of the European Business Ethics Network from 2011.
Since the founding of Olympia Electronics in 1979, and for the last 40 years, the company has made significant developments, with the following highlights:
- In 1986 it became the leading company in Greece in the field of electronic security systems.
- In 1989 it started its export activities and now exports its products to more than 70 countries.
- In 2005 it set up Seminar Departments at its Headquarters and Branch, offering knowledge and know-how to Greek installers and electricians by experienced staff.
- In 2014 it dynamically penetrated the highly demanding shipping market and managed to strengthen its position.
- In 2018 it launched its new investment in building facilities and mechanical equipment next to the current headquarters.
During its 40 years of operation, Olympia Electronics has been distinguished with many awards for entrepreneurship, innovation, large turnover and so on, by operators, associations and others. The company has over the years within the framework of corporate social responsibility (CSR), strongly emphasized corporate responsibility, sensitivity, conscience and entrepreneurial ethics with the aim of supporting society and protecting the environment. Olympia Electronics has on many occasions donated its products to charities and school complexes, for social purposes and for raising awareness among the general public. It has also sponsored initiatives and events of electrical equipment associations, along with social events of cultural institutions, and has donated money to charitable organizations.
