British manufacturer, Haztec International, returns to the Emergency Services Show with many new products from its extensive range of emergency vehicle warning equipment.
Haztec offers seven separate lightbar ranges, all designed and built in the UK, including the latest R65 Class 2 approved 54.5mm high Xpert SLX which is available with single, dual, tri or quad colour LED modules. By using multi-colour LED modules, very sophisticated lighting combinations can be programmed into the lightbar: a module can function as single colour warning or spot or as a combined warning and spot, alley light or arrow/warning light.
Haztec can offer lightbars in lengths of up to 2.4 metres (95 inches) to suit the widest of vehicles and a comprehensive choice of components from LED, alley/spot/flood, stop/tail/turn and headlights to programmable LED message signs and acoustic speakers. This means that Haztec lightbars can be designed to meet bespoke requirements, one of the specialisms of the manufacturer.
Haztec’s HQ in Leeds, UK, incorporates extensive research, design, testing and manufacturing facilities from where it has supplied many thousands of lightbars and associated vehicle warning products to the emergency services worldwide since it was formed almost two decades ago. The electronics design engineering team, for example, use the latest technology to ensure the range offers the optimum combination of innovation, ease of use, cost and quality to emergency service fleet managers.
The latest innovation is the 8-82415 EuroSmart siren/PA. This lightweight siren/PA will drive one or two Haztec 8-7050 compact 50W round or square cowl Haztec speakers to deliver up to a very powerful 118dBA at 2 metres (with one speaker). The 8-82415 comes with dual radio rebroadcast input channels and a choice from 28 siren tones including mixed, true fanfare or vibrato (when installed with two speakers). A further plus, the USB connector means it’s easy to re-programme the siren at any time – even the most complex sequence of siren tones, lightbar, grille light and headlight flash patterns can be programmed and recalled with a single push button. The 8-82415 can be teamed with any Haztec CANbus handset or used as a standalone siren or siren with auxiliary microphone. This is one of many new Haztec products which also includes the latest distinctive 8-81502 low frequency 100 Watt siren amplifier and speakers.
In addition to lightbars, beacons and siren/PA systems, Haztec offers a wide range of vehicle mounted directional warning lighting, from large format 6×4 or 9×7 inch (150×100 or 228×176 mm) lights to the latest 4-10026 dual colour R65 Class 2 approved compact warning light. The 4-10026 has been designed to reduce the number of lights required and help make the vehicle less conspicuous when lighting is powered off.
The 4-10026 has a specially designed optic lens which delivers extremely effective warning power in two colours from a very small footprint, and comes with night dim mode option to reduce LED brightness and prevent dazzle, helping make night-time operations safer. For UK requirements, the light can be programmed to alternate between two chosen LED colours, or each colour can be set to operate independently. Colour combinations include R65 amber, R65 blue, green, red and white.
Also new to the range and on display on Haztec’s stand will be the 7-7250 remote control searchlight with its powerful 3045 lumen long range beam. When powered down, the mechanism returns the light to a safe, parked position so that the beam does not dazzle oncoming traffic when the light is switched back on. It offers full 360 degree continuous rotation, 90 degree upward and 30 degree downward elevation and two operating speeds.
All Haztec products are certified to R10 with the most popular lighting products also holding R65 certification. All products are supplied with comprehensive warranties, typically five years for LEDs and up to three years on other products.
