Working non-stop on research and development operations to achieve our goal ‘durability and innovative solutions’, Duyar has introduced its one of latest product: the Commercial Riser Manifold, which shines with its advantages.
Motivation behind the product
As needs increase day by day, it is now inevitable to make fire-protection system design and installation faster and cheaper. The most time-consuming stages of the installation of fire-protection systems, which is a long process, are procurement, production and assembly. Manifold is a one of the newly introduced systems that is intended to shorten and facilitate the process, lower the cost and avoid excess energy consumption caused by production processes.
In fire sprinkler systems, the components shown in Figure 1 must be available next to each zone in accordance with NFPA 13 requirements.
Technical structure and functions of the Commercial Riser Manifold
The system shown in Figure 2 has been created by assembling four main components.
- Flow Switch
- Test and Drain Valve
- Pressure Relief Valve
- Manometer
Flow Switch
In fire sprinkler systems, a flow switch connected to an alarm device must be available to detect flow, in accordance with NFPA standards. The Riser Manifold is designed to give an alarm when any sprinkler explodes and can be connected directly to a device that will sound a warning.
Test and Drain Valve
The K factor is compatible with the sprinkler and with its special orifice, it allows the sprinkler system to be tested and drained.
Safety Valve
Gravity and temperature changes throughout the year; may cause over-pressure within the sprinkler system above the recommended level because water extinguishing systems are closed systems. When the pressure in the system exceeds the set value; The safety valve included in the Commercial Riser Manifold reduces the pressure slowly and ensures that it remains at the appropriate level.
Manometer
According to NFPA standards that the Commercial Riser Manifold complies with, a pressure manometer must be used before and after the valve in systems operating with an alarm valve or check valve.
System properties
- Contains ductile iron body and grooved connection,
- L size is fixed for all nominal diameters from DN50 to DN150 (L=330 mm),
- Connection spot available for the safety valve
- Easy testing and manometer change with 1/4in manometer valve
- With its drainage port, it provides the opportunity to test the system without draining
- Suitable for vertical and horizontal assembly.
Advantages
The Commercial Riser Manifold decreases the installation time to 15–30 seconds with its compact structure. Ordering all the components needed in the system from a single place at the same time brings ease of supply. In this way, the product offers convenience to customers in terms of purchasing time, project planning time and installation time.
