The prompt response and effective actions of Firefighters contained what was already a major fire and preventing the spread to other buildings in a large warehouse complex. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday 5th June, was in the Al Quoz Industrial Area of Dubai.
Emergency response teams were on the scene within two minutes of being alerted and immediately commenced offensive firefighting to contain the blaze. Despite facing difficult and hazardous conditions within the buildings which contained chemicals and building materials, the building was safely evacuated and there were no reported injuries.
Emergency Teams from Dubai Civil Defence are being credited for their prompt response and actions which ensured the blaze was contained and the remaining buildings in the 12 warehouse facility were not seriously affected.
The fire was declared to be under control within one hour and forty minutes after the call.
Dubai authorities are reminding companies and those responsible for fire safety requirements to maintain the standards of safety in their buildings and ensure fire alarm and detection equipment are properly tested and functioning.
An investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing.
